President’s Message
2012 AGC Annual Convention
Each year, AGC’s convention delivers ample opportunity to learn from leaders in the industry. The many educational sessions cover everything from the latest technological advances in the construction industry to important regulatory changes and tools for business. The networking events allow us to share experiences. Featured speakers provide insight on legislative issues or share inspiring stories. But most of all, each AGC convention gives us an opportunity to invest in our businesses, and ourselves.
I’m very excited to attend AGC’s 93rd Annual Convention in Honolulu, Hawaii, and not just because of the location. While Hawaii is a beautiful backdrop for any occasion, I will take this last opportunity as president of AGC to remind each of you of the importance of participating in our association.
My theme for this year has been Strength Through Unity – Every Member Matters, because the knowledge we share, the work we do, and the action we take on behalf of the construction profession matters a great deal to the future of the industry and AGC.
By participating in our convention, you not only share in a sense of camaraderie with each of your colleagues, but also a sense of strength and pride in the construction industry and AGC of America.
Together we will learn how to improve our businesses and better compete in a new construction environment. We’ll applaud each other’s outstanding work in partnering and safety, and cheer for innovative new approaches to completing a difficult job. We will reminisce about conventions in years past and appreciate how far we have come over AGC’s 94-year history. But most importantly, our participation in this meeting, and in our association, will serve as an investment of the most important kind.
Invest in Your Business. Invest in Yourself.
See you in Honolulu,
Kris Young
